In the face of the PALISADES FIRE, we’re blessed to share some joyful news about the spiritual journey of Katie Ramirez and Nathaniel Burkholder. These two young members of our congregation have grown up together in faith, having been baptized just weeks apart. Now, they stand together confessing their common faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as their only Lord and Savior.
Last Sunday, July 27th, 2025, Confirmation service was filled with food, fun, and fellowship as Katie and Nathaniel made beautiful confessions of their faith. It was a meaningful milestone in their spiritual journeys, marking the moment when “the faith given them in baptism indeed had taken root.”
During the ceremony, Katie’s sponsors came forward and lit her baptismal candle from the New Testament candle, symbolizing how saving faith in our Lord is passed down from one generation to the next. Nathaniel’s baptismal sponsors shared in this meaningful tradition as well.
A Call to Prayer
We ask you to pray for these young believers and partners in ministry, “that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, to reach all the riches of full assurance of understanding and the knowledge of God’s mystery, which is Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” (Colossians 2:10).
Please keep all our youth in your prayers as they navigate their faith journeys. And remember, they are watching us—let’s be gracious and faithful examples of God’s grace and truth in word and deed.
We wish Katie and Nathaniel every continued success in the Lord’s journey planned for them. We are excited to see what God has planned!
