Dear Family,
Thank you all for your prayers and encouragement regarding our recent trip to the Black Family Ministry Convocation of the Lutheran Church in Dallas, Texas. We had a truly blessed time with our brothers and sisters in faith. The singing, preaching, and learning were outstanding.
I was invited to give a stewardship presentation to discuss the organizational structure, ministry teams and funding for Black ministry within the Lutheran Church. The needs are unique, ranging from frontline ministry and scholarships for the next generation to educating and equipping volunteers and professional church leaders to participate in God’s mission in a broken and challenging world seeking lasting hope.
Below are a couple of pictures from our time together at this mostly joyful event, apart from our return flights being canceled and the drama of getting Anne to Michigan and myself back home to LA. Despite the travel challenges, all things are according to God’s good and gracious will.
