On January 7, 2026, Pali LTRG and Palisades American Legion Post 283 invite the community to a special morning of remembrance marking one year since the Palisades Fire. The “White Glove Flag Presentation and Remembrance Ceremony” will bring together community members, civic leaders, and recovery partners in a moving tribute to the twelve Palisadians who lost their lives and to honor those helping the community recover and rebuild.
The ceremony begins at 8:00 AM with coffee and breakfast, followed by a private white glove flag presentation accompanied by the Palisades Symphony (streamed live for public viewing). The morning includes the dedication of the Post 283 “survivor flag” flown during the fire, a color guard procession to the Village Green featuring representatives from the American Legion, Army National Guard, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and relief organizations, and concludes with the ringing of bells, wreath presentations, and a moment of remembrance. A community lunch will be served from 11:15 AM to 1:00 PM at Palisades American Legion Post 283.
